Flussbad invites you to our first Reethaus Ritual, a 75-minute immersive experience guided by Manoj Dias, meditation teacher and founder of gentle—noise™.
Dias grew up in a household in Sri Lanka where Theravada monks came and went freely. What stirred in him then — a curiosity about what could be felt but not named — has shaped a lifelong inquiry into meditation yogic and somatic practice through Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions. Two decades of study under western masters including Maty Ezraty, Scott Tusa, Joseph Goldstein, Jack Kornfield and Sharon Salzburg lead Dias to the somatic teachings of his root teacher Tsoknyi Rinpoche, a Tibetan tulku of the Drukpa Kagyü and Nyingma traditions.
In this Reethaus Ritual, Dias will speak about the current cultural moment, the crisis of consciousness and the commodification of mindfulness. Practices that were developed as ways of transforming our perspective and action in the world have been reduced to hacks and absorbed by the machinery of the industry of wellness. With mental and chronic health troubles on the rise, there is reason to suspect the futility of this approach.
Following the discourse, Dias will guide guests through four moments of active practice: a variation of holotopic breathwork; a session of vocal toning designed to engage the vagus nerve, accompanied by the shruti box; deep listening, with a curated soundtrack ranging from Hans Zimmer, Fred Again to Massive Attack; and finally a sitting meditation that Dias will guide in an attuned response to the dynamics of the room.
We finish with tea and chocolate.
The arc of the experience is designed to end on a deeply grounded note, with almost half of the ritual time dedicated to down-regulative practices following the crescendo.
